creating your own sunshine

11.26.2014

photo from pinterest, inspired by this quote.
The birds had retreated to their nests, rodents taken refuge underground, and the ocean, swollen with the rainwater, lapped sluggishly at the rocky coast.

It was one of those days. The hours had crept by ever so slowly; the sound of the rain combined with monotonous lectures lulled many a child to sleep. Soft snores resonated around the room, and the other students were too busy keeping their own eyes open to cue the usual onslaught of giggles.

They made their way from class to class lethargically, their legs and arms moving only because they had trained their bodies to do so.

Some days, you just have to create your own sunshine.

  5. I remember when it would rain on campus. Somehow it created rivers of puddles. Wet feet all day. :] // ▲ itsCarmen.com ▲

  7. Wonderful! I can definitely relate to this... this is exactly what it feels like to go to school when you're used to being off the whole week before Thanksgiving! Thank you for sharing this piece.
