the first glimpses of spring

4.07.2015

Spring came late this year. It took longer for the first shower to fall and for the plum blossoms to bloom in our backyard.

That's the thing about seasons -- they're ridiculously unpredictable. This winter was dry, but this summer will likely be dryer. I wonder how this years' spring will play out. I hope it'll be like one of those perfect, clich├ęd springs: long, wet, and sweet-smelling. I definitely wouldn't mind some extra rainfall. There are few things less fulfilling than experiencing a cool, rainy afternoon in the middle of a drought.

slowly getting back into the swing of blogging. i've been terribly inconsistent for a while, and i've missed writing actual posts and connecting with you all! how are you guys doing? what's the weather like where you live? xo

  3. We just had a 65-degree (F) day and then a snow storm the next! Fortunately, all the snow melted and it's slowly getting warmer.

Here, the weather is wet and rainy. Near every day for a week or so it's been cloudy and drizzly.....April showers, I guess :)

  8. Cute pics :) I agree, seasons are unpredictable, but they will always come. Unfortunately, I rather dread rainy days unless I have a good sized book or a good movie in hand. Sunshiney days are much more my delight :)

and how true that is! we've slowly been getting back to normal here in Kansas after a few literally Dust Bowl like summers, and this spring has been surprisingly fresh and damp, i'm loving it. and these pretty blooms.

  16. Spring is definitely here in Kentucky. Today the high was 77, with high humidity (the real sign of spring!). The real feel is 81. Don't get me wrong, if California, that's warm, but it's not bad. Here it's sticky, sticky, sticky! blech.
